In Support of Freedom and Georgia’s European Choice
The Ria Keburia Foundation, established six years ago, has consistently upheld Georgia's national interests through the development of its social and cultural spheres. We firmly believe that European and Euro-Atlantic integration is not only a strategic choice but the only path to preserving Georgia’s identity, heritage, and democratic values. This choice, enshrined in the Constitution of Georgia, reflects the will of the absolute majority of its citizens.
The Foundation unequivocally condemns the actions of the current government and does not recognize its legitimacy. We support the call for new parliamentary elections and stand against any attempts to suspend European and Euro-Atlantic integration, deeming such actions unconstitutional and contrary to the will and history of the Georgian people.
The policies of the former ruling party, Georgian Dream, pose a threat to Georgia's democratic path. Laws such as the anti-LGBTQ+ package and the foreign agents' bill harm Georgian society. These measures promote discrimination, cruelty, oppression, and injustice, undermine freedom of speech, restrict the work of independent media, and create a hostile environment for civic and cultural initiatives.
We are witnessing how a party without a lawful mandate employs violence and repression, normalizing lawlessness and steering the country toward authoritarianism. This strategy mirrors the methods of the Russian Federation, against which the Georgian people have always stood firm. However, Georgian history is a story of resistance. Our values, language, culture, and independence have been hard-fought, and we remain committed to defending them. Georgian Dream has chosen to oppose its own people, aiming to alter the country’s geopolitical trajectory.
The Ria Keburia Foundation expresses unwavering solidarity with the people of Georgia in their fight for freedom, democracy, and a European future. We condemn violence against peaceful protesters, call for immediate new elections, and demand the repeal of discriminatory laws.
