LISTEN TO Sidonia Nun

Sidonia Nun (Natalia Kachiashvili) was born and raised in Tsinandali. At the age of 17, she entered the Samtavro Monastery, and for the past 16 years, she has been a member of the Autocephalous Church of Greece.

Sidonia Nun studied Social Anthropology at the State University of Thessaly in Greece.

Since 2013, she has been presenting her works in various projects. These include Transparency, a collaboration with Japanese photographer Yuriko Takagi for Amarta, followed by Fish in the Aquarium. She is also known for Georgian Soul Revived in Modern Forms—an exclusive embroidery project in silver.

Another of her installations, Door of New Opportunities, symbolizes the journey through challenges before embracing new possibilities. The staircase represents the stages one must go through, while the number 8 on the door signifies eternity.
